Researchers determined that eating just two servings of red meat, processed meat or poultry, but not fish, weekly was linked to a 3% to 7% greater chance of developing blockages in the arteries, stroke or heart failure, according to the report in JAMA Internal Medicine. Granted, it’s a small increase, but whether eating chicken specifically every day of the week will elevate that risk remains to be studied. One thing to note: The researchers did not determine how the chicken was prepared.

Andy Arra, RD, LD and a CrossFit L2 Fitness & Nutrition Coach, says it plainly: “Following something this simple and ‘clean’ will immediately force people to shut out other non-nutritive dense foods.” Some peoplelike Keatingcan thrive on a very black and white meal plan such as the bro diet, but others will have a hard time eliminating those other “non-healthful” foods like pizza or cake.

Arra does admit that the bro diet is a “fine place to start” but “would never recommend a single source macronutrient diet, ever.” He admits that he would not consider this diet nutritionally sound, and would rather recommend for someone to get outside assistance and training if you want to hit specific goals.

Okay, so how do we start to meal prep chicken? First, we need to decide on the chicken recipe. Because chicken breast is lower in fat and a great lean protein, I usually use chicken breast over chicken thigh in my meal prep chicken recipes.

The big trick with meal prepping chicken breast is to marinade it. Seriously. Take the 30 minutes it requires to infuse all that flavor into the chicken. Your chicken breast will wind up being so much more flavorful, tender, and juicy. All good things.
