Keto Scallops With Garlic Lemon Cream Sauce Ingredients
- 1 pound large sea scallops
- salt and pepper
Rinse scallops, pat dry with paper towel. Season with salt and pepper.

Preheat air fryer at 400 degrees for 3-4 minutes. Place scallops on the air fryer tray or basket. Air fry at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, flip scallops halfway through cooking. Repeat cooking with remaining scallops if needed.
Get saucy and make a creamy garlic lemon sauce
In a small saucepan or skillet, melt butter over low to medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Whisk in heavy cream and stir until thickened. Whisk in wine, lemon juice and a pinch of salt. Pour sauce over cooked scallops and serve with lemon wedges and a sprinkling of parmesan cheese if desired.

Scallops are one of my favorite seafood dishes to make. They are easy to make, flavorful and they pair well with so many different easy side dishes that I can come up with a tasty meal with very little planning. Scallops cook quickly so they are great for a quick-to-make appetizer or main dish to serve at dinner time.
I love the lemon garlic and butter flavor combination paired with sea food. Lemon Garlic chicken is one of my favorite chicken recipes but nothing beats adding lemon and garlic to seafood. Lemon Garlic Shrimp and Lemon Garlic Tilapia are some of my go to easy seafood recipes to make.
When I was making dinner a few weeks ago I had scallops and had yet to figure out what exactly I wanted to do with them. Then my daughter asked me if we could have Lemon garlic shrimp during the week and I came up with this easy Air fryer scallops recipe that is similar to my lemon garlic shrimp recipe my whole family loves.
Tips For Cooking Scallops In An Air Fryer
Use Sea Scallops. When you are making this lemon garlic scallop recipe you want to use sea scallops. Bay scallops are much smaller then sea scallops so it is important to use the bigger scallops.
Wash and dry. You want the Scallops to be dried off when you put them into the bowl with the olive oil and the spices.
Flip half way thru. I found the Scallops cooked best when at the 5 minute mark I flipped them over and finished cooking them.
Read your instructions. Some air fryers will require you to use cooking spray when you are using them, others dont so be sure to check the specific directions for yours.

How To Make These Lemon Garlic Scallops
If scallops have roe attached, remove .
Pat scallops dry with paper towel. Season scallops on one side with pepper and salt.
In a cast iron skillet or non-stick frying pan over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add scallops one at a time, seasoned-side down, to pan . Season other side of scallops with pepper and salt.
Fry on one side until golden and a crisp crust forms, approximately 2 minutes, then flip and fry until lightly browned and almost cooked to your liking, about 1 additional minute.
Remove scallops from pan and transfer to a plate.
In the same pan, melt butter. Add minced garlic and fry until aromatic, for about 1 minute.
Add vegetable stock and simmer on medium-low heat until the stock reduces and the sauce thickens a bit, about 1-2 minutes.
Add the scallops back to the pan to warm through. If you plan to add capers, do so now. Cut open one scallop to check if theyre cooked to your liking. Once they are, add lemon juice to pan and turn off stovetop heat.
Transfer scallops to serving plates, top with chopped parsley, and, optionally, a pinch of ground paprika.

How To Sear Scallops
In order to sear scallops correctly, three things are necessarydry scallops, a hot pan, and not over-crowding the scallops.
First, as mentioned above, the scallops must be completely dry. Also, if they are not completely defrosted, water will come out in the cooking process and make the scallops steam instead of brown.
Next, the pan must be hot. You should hear a sizzle when you add the scallops to the skillet. If you dont hear the oil hiss, the pan is not hot enough and you should remove the scallop and wait for the skillet to heat up more.
The third necessity to develop that gorgeous sear is that the scallops do not touch each other. If they touch each other, they will steam instead of sear. If you dont have a large enough skillet to cook all of the scallops without them touching, cook them in small batches.

Easy Keto Lemon Butter Scallops Recipe
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Salt & Pepper
Once your scallops are fully thawed. Pat them with a paper towel to dry them off.
Top the scallops with a dash of salt and pepper.
In a large skillet, begin to heat olive oil over medium high heat.
Add scallops. Cook for 3 minutes on each side .
Remove the scallops from the pan.
Lower heat, then add butter, minced garlic and the juice of 1 lemon. Continue to simmer until butter is melted, and garlic becomes fragrant.
Return the scallops to the pan, and cook just until heated.
Top with fresh parsley and additional lemon slices, if desired.
